What this site is
OPDADA Korea Guide is an independent site, run from South Korea, that answers the practical questions people actually have about visiting or moving to Korea — how to get from Incheon to Seoul at 1am, whether your card will work, what a jjimjilbang costs, which public holidays close the banks. It is the English arm of opdada.com, a Korean-language site of everyday calculators and local look-ups running since July 2026. A Japanese edition lives at jp.opdada.com.
There is no company behind it and no editorial team — one operator writes and maintains every page. That is worth knowing when you decide how much weight to give what you read here.
How the pages are put together
Anything with a rule or a number attached is checked against the body that sets it. Visa-free entry lengths, tax-refund thresholds, public holiday dates and transport fares come from the government office or operator responsible for them, not from other travel blogs. When a rule changes — the way Constitution Day returned to the holiday calendar in 2026 — the affected pages are rewritten rather than left to drift.
The calculators run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into the BMI, budget or unit tools is sent anywhere; the arithmetic happens on your own device.
Live data is labelled as live. Exchange rate, air quality and box-office pages pull from public feeds and show when the figure was taken. Those feeds update on their own schedule, so a number here can lag its source by minutes or hours.
Where something is uncertain, the page says so. If a rule has exceptions, or a figure is an estimate, that is written into the page instead of being smoothed over.
What this site is not
It is not legal, medical, immigration or financial advice. Guides can be wrong, and rules change without much notice. Before anything that costs money or affects your status — a visa application, a hospital visit, a lease — confirm the details with the office that actually decides: Korea Immigration, your bank, your embassy, the hospital.
Corrections
