Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how OPDADA Korea Guide ("we", "us", "the site"), available at korea.opdada.com, handles information when you visit. OPDADA Korea Guide is an informational travel-guide site operated as part of OPDADA (opdada.com). We keep this simple because we collect very little.
1. Information we collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and there are no sign-up, login, or contact forms on this site. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment details, or other personal information that identifies you. We do not sell or rent any data.
2. What this site stores in your browser
Some settings are saved on your own device only, in your browser's local storage. They never reach our servers, and they are only readable by this site in this browser. The complete list is:

Separately, this site installs a service worker so pages still open when your connection drops. It keeps copies of the pages you visited in your browser's cache storage (named korea-v1). Those copies are pages of this site, not information about you.
Everything in this section lives in your browser. You can erase all of it at any time with your browser's "clear browsing data (cookies and site data)" option, and you can stop the site from storing anything by blocking site data for korea.opdada.com in your browser settings — the tools will simply forget your last choices.
Calculators and converters on this site run entirely inside your browser: what you type into them is not sent to us. Tools that need live official data (weather, air quality, holidays, box office, place search) send only the values needed for the lookup — a city code, a region name, a year, a search keyword — never your name or contact details.
3. Analytics and server logs
We run no analytics or visitor-tracking script of our own on these pages, and we set no cookie of our own. (Advertising is a separate matter and is covered in section 4.) What we look at instead is the aggregate traffic report that our host, Cloudflare, produces from its own server records — how many people viewed a page and which pages are popular. It is aggregated and does not build a profile of you.
As on any website, Cloudflare's servers also keep ordinary request logs (IP address, time of request, browser type) in order to deliver pages, block attacks and diagnose faults. Those logs sit with Cloudflare and are kept and deleted under Cloudflare's own policy; we do not export them, and we do not match them against anything else.
4. Cookies and advertising
This site is supported by advertising. Google AdSense serves the ads you see on these pages, and third-party vendors — including Google — use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Some pages also include content or links from other third parties that may set their own cookies when you interact with them:
- Advertising cookies (Google AdSense): Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google My Ad Center, or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. See also How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Music player (YouTube): An optional music feature embeds YouTube. If you open and use it, Google/YouTube may set cookies as described in their own privacy policy. It does not load until you interact with it.
- Affiliate links: When you click a booking or shopping link (see below), the partner may set a cookie to attribute a resulting booking. This does not identify you to us.
5. Affiliate links
This site currently carries no affiliate links. Outbound links to booking sites, shops and official pages are ordinary links: we earn nothing if you use them, and they are chosen only because they are useful.
If we add affiliate links in future, we will say so here, mark each link as sponsored where it appears, and update this policy. Any commission would come from the merchant and would never change the price you pay or what we recommend.
6. Third-party services
The third parties whose services may process data when you use this site include:
- Cloudflare — hosting, request logs and the aggregate traffic report described in section 3.
- Google AdSense — advertising. Google and its partners may use cookies to personalise the ads shown on this site.
- Google / YouTube — only if you use the optional embedded music player.
- OPDADA (opdada.com) APIs — some tools and the blog load their data from our parent site's servers. Those requests carry only the values needed for the lookup (for example a search term or a region code), never your name or contact details.
- Exchange-rate tool: currency data is fetched directly from third-party providers (open.er-api.com, frankfurter.dev); only currency codes are sent, though your IP address is visible to those services.
Each of these has its own privacy policy governing any data it collects.
7. How long anything is kept, and how it is deleted
We hold no account, no mailing list and no database of visitors, so there is nothing on our side with a retention period attached to it. What does exist is kept as follows:

Because nothing identifying is stored on our servers, there is no periodic purge for us to run: records that would need destroying are never created in the first place. That is deliberate — the surest protection is not to hold the data.
8. Your rights and choices
You may ask at any time to see, correct, delete, or stop the processing of information about you. Write to us through the contact page and we will look into it and reply. In practice, though, we hold no name, e-mail address or other identifier, so there is usually nothing on our side to look up — and the things that do exist you can act on directly and immediately:
- Delete everything stored on your device — use your browser's "clear browsing data (cookies and site data)" option, or block site data for korea.opdada.com. Nothing is left behind on our side.
- Turn off personalised advertising — Google My Ad Center, or aboutads.info for other vendors.
- Avoid the embedded player — YouTube loads nothing until you choose to open the music player.
- Ask Cloudflare about server logs — those logs are held by our host, so a request about them goes to Cloudflare under its own privacy policy.
If you are in the EU, the UK or another region with data-protection law, these rights are the ones that law gives you; nothing in this policy takes them away.
9. Security
Every page of this site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), our host filters abusive and automated traffic, and the calculators keep what you type inside your browser instead of sending it to a server.
10. Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page and post the updated version here.
12. Contact and data protection officer
This site is operated from the Republic of Korea, so Korea's Personal Information Protection Act applies. Article 30 of that Act requires us to name the person responsible for handling personal information and for answering your questions and complaints:
