Korea Tax Refund Calculator
Foreign tourists get the 10% VAT back on tax-free shopping in Korea. Enter what you spent to estimate your refund and what you'll actually pay.
ℹ️ How it works: The price you see already includes 10% VAT. At a "Tax Free" shop,
spend at least ₩15,000 per receipt and show your passport. Most tourists get back about 5–8% of the price
(the refund operator keeps a small fee, so it's a bit less than the full 10%). Two ways to receive it:
• Immediate refund at the store — for receipts up to ₩1,000,000; the VAT is deducted on the spot.
• Airport / downtown kiosk — scan passport & receipts and get cash or card refund before you leave.
Receipts expire 3 months after purchase. You must have stayed in Korea under 6 months. (As of Jan 2026, the separate refund for medical & cosmetic procedures ended.) This is an estimate — the exact amount depends on the store and operator.
